Beijing, May 11, 2012 — It was a day of surprises on Friday at the 2012 FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH World Tour Beijing Grand Slam. Four of the top five women’s seeds crashed out, including two-time Olympic champions Kerri Walsh/ Misty May-Treanor of the United States. On the men’s side, their compatriots and Beijing Olympic title winners Todd Rogers/ Philip Dalhausser were upset by Italian 14th seeds Nicolai Paolo and Daniele Lupo.
